Dragonflies in Michigan
Though most dragonflies of Michigan are found in the southern part of the state, several species can also be seen in the north. The fascinating, agile insects live in Michigan’s forests, dunes, lakes, bays, rivers, interdunal ponds, fens, bogs and springs. The most common dragonfly here is the common green darner.
The largest dragonfly of Michigan is the swamp darner, and the smallest is the Elfin skimmer. The pictures help in identification of the insects.
