Dragonflies in Louisiana
Dragonflies are an integral part of the Louisiana landscape in summer. They perch on the tops of tall grasses and branches. From there, they can launch to catch their prey of mosquitoes and other insects. Hence another common name for dragonflies is mosquito hawks. Both sexes of the insect hang out near water while the reclusive females can be found in yards as well.
