Dragonflies in Kentucky

The common dragonflies of Kentucky have similar behavior but differ in their habitats. While some live near ponds, others frequent the areas near rivers and streams. The darners are the most common type of dragonfly in this state. Skimmers are fairly common and are usually seen zipping up and down the sides of creeks and streams.
