Cicadas in Connecticut
Both periodical and annual cicadas call Connecticut their home. Periodical brood XI cicadas have possibly gone extinct as they didn’t appear in the state for as long as 20 years. But another 17-year cicada brood will emerge in 2030. Though cicadas have structural differences, the best way to identify one is by its call, as every species has a different sound.
