Ants in Wisconsin

There are quite a few species of ants that call Wisconsin their home. Some destroy wood like the carpenter ant, while some are common nuisance pests like the field and pavement ants.

The common big black ants of Wisconsin are the biting carpenter ants. The tiny red ants found here are usually the pharaoh ants. Thankfully, the dreaded fire ants are not found in this state.
