Ants in Kansas

Various ant species can survive the harsh Kansas weather. The most common ants here are the fire ants. While most Kansas ants prefer nesting outdoors, they don’t hesitate to enter homes if the conditions are right. Some of the ants native to the state are non-biting but a nuisance to homes and lawns, while others are more dangerous as they can damage structures or sting or bite if disturbed.
