Ants in Idaho

There are several biting and non-biting ant species that call Idaho their home. The most common ants here are the soft-bodied, dark reddish brown to black colored odorous house ants. The largest ants in the state are the carpenter ants. The red imported fire ants are not native to Idaho but have been introduced accidentally into the US.
