Dragonflies in Hawaii
Hawaii is home to the largest dragonfly of the US. The giant Hawaiian dragonfly or pinao is endemic to the state. It has a wingspan of around 4-6 inches and is usually found in higher altitudes. The Blackburn dragonfly is also a native of the state. It is red and black. The other species mentioned in the list below are not endemic to Hawaii.
